........"Fresh and on target," that's what Crushing Juliet is. As they formed in July 2009, the members surmised that to be a successful band in this challenging era of music is that, "If you're not on the radio, you ain't $#!t." With that in mind, the songs they wrote aimed specifically for the commercial, catchy feel good melodies, meaningful lyrics (tongue in cheek at times), and big chorus' laid on top of high energy rhythms and riffs..... The band consists of the star quality tone and looks of vocalist Justin McKee, the unforgettable riffs of guitarist Steve Hatmaker, and the high energy, in-the-pocket groove of drummer Lonnie Hammer. The three of them wrote, recorded, and co-produced their music from the fall of 2009 to the spring of 2010. At the time, they did not have a permanent bassist, so they called upon friends to cut the bass tracks. Lonnie states, "All we were focused on was writing amazing songs. We didn't want to muddy up the waters by looking for a bassist.".... Once the 11 song CD "Broken Cadillac" was finished, Justin, Steve, and Lonnie started siftining through the bass players that had come to them after word got around they were ready to roll. After meeting and playing with bassist Alan Doty, Justin said it best: "It just felt so comfortable with Alan, he has a great personality and a drive like ours." He was a good fit..... After passing through an array of flaky second guitarists, the guys in the band landed on Mike Lovelace, a good friend and former guitarist for Joan Red. "Mike is a great musician and friend of mine; he knows the dynamics in the music we are looking for," added Justin. .... On the reputation and talent of the members, along with the local buzz their music was creating, Crushing Juliet was able to secure a headline slot June 5th, 2010 for their debut show/CD release at the nationally acclaimed and prestigious "Mingewood Hall" in Midtown Memphis, TN. The day before the show, the band played for the first time together in front of tens of thousands of viewers on FOX 13 television's "Good Morning Memphis", gaining accolades from the FOX TV studio and staff on the stellar performance..... In addition to playing in front of several hundred fans and selling a plethora of merchandise items, Crushing Juliet's concert at Minglewood Hall was streamed live on WRUG internet radio being heard by over 30,000 listeners worldwide..... With performances at high caliber venues with their concert size stage show and production, along with their sizable international fan base, Crushing Juliet continues to grow and capture the hearts of music lovers all across the world. ..
