M-Bone, a member of rap group Cali Swag District, was shot and killed on May 15th in Inglewood, Calif. Although there have been several reports that the violence was incited by a jealous neighbor, police have said they still have no specific motive for the murder. M-Bone’s bandmates C-Smoove and JayAre, released a video via TMZ discussing their reaction to M-Bone’s death, noting it was not linked to gang violence.
.
“I wanna clear up: It had nothing to do with gang violence, it wasn’t nothing like that,” C-Smoove said. “It was just a ‘wrong place at the wrong time’ situation. We just gotta stay strong for the homey. We don’t know who’s responsible for it or what the case may be. It’s just bad, man. We’re just gonna leave it up to the law right now because there’s really nothing we can do.”
.
The group also released a new track celebrating M-Bone, entitled “How To Do That.” You can listen here.

The Inglewood Police Department have asked that anyone with information on M-Bone’s murder call their homicide division at 310- 412-5246 or their 24-hour anonymous hotline number at 888-41-CRIME.
