For a while it looked like it might not happen, but after a record-shattering opening weekend, “Marvel’s The Avengers” pretty much sealed the fate of any potential sequel. The word is out that the sequel is already in development, although it will be a few years before we see the next film. “Avengers, assemble!”
According to Walt Disney Co. Chairman and Chief Executive Robert A. Iger, we’ll see “Iron Man 3″ and “Thor 2″ next year, with a “Captain America” sequel sometime in 2014. That sounds like it could push an “Avengers” sequel into 2015, but we’ll have to wait and see.
.
The movie raked in a box office record $207 million in its first three days of release in the United States, bringing its global box office to around $702 million. At the pace these movies are going, it should be no time before Disney recoups the $4 billion it paid for Marvel back in 2009.

So what do you think? Can you wait until 2015 for another “Avengers” movie as long as you have Iron Man, Thor and Captain America to fill in the time?
