Featured Album Releases:
Rise Against- Endgame- The Chicago punk rockers return with their sixth LP, and it’s touching on some weighty issues: Hurricane Katrina, the BP oil spill, etc. While the album title, and subject matter, might point at a grim punk-rock fairytale, singer Tim McIlrath has said the album discusses the idea that “What if the place on the other side of this transition is a place we’d all rather be living in?’
.
Travis Barker- Give The Drummer Some – Despite being postponed several times, the Blink drummer’s long-delayed solo debut is about as star-studded as albums come by: From Lil Wayne to Rick Ross, Slash to Corey Taylor, Barker’s thrashing cymbals and shotgun snare keep a steady rhythm behind the madness
.
The Naked And Famous- Passive Me, Aggressive You- The Kiwi shoegaze band have already been making waves across the pond, but now with the official release of their debut LP (which we ironically named one of favorite albums of 2010) the band hopes to cement their blossoming status as indie darlings.
.
Bryan Master- For People Like Us- This LA-based singer-songwriter has reeled in what some would deem an indie-artist’s wishlist on his new album: a duet with Liz Phair and guest appearances by Warren Zevon’s son, Rami Jaffee (Wallflowers, Foo Fighters) and Pete Yorn’s entire backing band. The album draws on Master’s Irish roots, and encapsulates a blend of alt-rock, chamber pop and ambient melodies.
