The British electronica act Underworld are about to get some major exposure, because the duo has been enlisted as music directors for the Olympics Opening ceremony which will take place on July 27th in London.
.
Furthermore, a collection of songs called Isle Of Wonder: Music For The Opening Ceremony Of The London 2012 Olympic Games will be released digitally at midnight, and the physical version will be available on August 6th.
.
Don’t worry, though, the committee hasn’t forgotten about The Chemical Brothers, who have crafted their own piece of cycling centered music for the event called “Theme For Velodrome” (which you can hear below). In an interview with The Guardian the band’s Tom Rowlands explained, “I have always made a connection between electronic music and cycling repetition, the freedom and sense of movement.”
