This Sunday we finally see the series premiere of Aaron Sorkin much talked about new show on HBO, ‘The Newsroom’. In true Sorkin (The West Wing, Studio 60) fashion, it takes us into the guts of a newsroom starring Jeff Daniels as Will McAvoy the host of a fictional news program called ‘News Night’.
In the premiere episode, Will McAvoy returns to work after a meltdown to find most of the staff are leaving his show. Will’s new executive producer is also his ex-girlfriend. Next, we have the series premiere of ‘The Great Escape’ (TNT). After being locked in Alcatraz, three teams must break out of their cells and avoid guards in order to win the challenge. There’s also a fabulous new episode of ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey’ (Bravo). Teresa takes a big step with her brother & Melissa hosts a party for her radio debut.

On Monday we’ve got a new episode of ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager’ (ABCF). When Amy is asked to advise a new student & Leo offers Ricky full-time employment after his graduation. Following this is a new ‘Bunheads’ (ABCF), where Fanny receives shocking news from her attorney & Hubbell’s car breaks down, landing Michelle in the driveway of a local recluse. Finally, there’s the series premiere of the new show ‘I Killed my BFF’ (Bio), which sounds like the #1 show you do not want to end up on. A tragic event leads to suspicion and revenge between two friends resulting in two dead and one on the way to Death Row.

This Tuesday, catch a new episode of ‘Pretty Little Liars.’ (ABCF) When Hanna’s visits with Mona do not sit well with Caleb & Aria dreads telling Ella that Byron is dating Meredith. On a new ‘Jane By Design,’ (ABCF) Jane and Ben have different reactions to their mother’s return & Billy notices strange things about Zoe’s behavior. Catch the premiere of the new show ‘Craft Wars,’ (TLC) and get inspired for some summer projects.

On Wednesday we’ve got a night of premieres starting at 9pm with ‘Hollywood Exes’ (VH1) which looks at former wives of stars who are trying to find success and independence on their own. Then at 10pm you have the premiere of a new season of ‘The Real World’ (MTV) in St. Thomas. The roommates move in and one feels very left out. Then, last but not least, is the premiere of ‘Final Witness’ (ABC). The story of a woman who, along with her two children, was killed in her rural Texas home in 2008, as told from her imagined vantage point.

This Thursday is also a night of premieres, starting at 9pm with the new Charlie Sheen show ‘Anger Management’ (FX). And we kick of the madness with Charlie returning to therapy after a bad run-in with his ex-wife’s new boyfriend. Afterwards, we welcome back a new season of ‘Louie’ (FX) when Louie has a difficult day. We’ve all been there! Then at 10:30 we have the season premiere of ‘Awkward’ (MTV). Jenna tries to spread holiday cheer & Jake’s gift forces Jenna to consider her past with Matty.

Thank God it’s Friday, especially cause it’s a night filled with comedy. At 9pm check out the latest episode of ‘The Ricky Gervais Show’ (HBO) when Karl wonders if his book will someday be considered a masterpiece. Then at 10pm catch a new episode of ‘Comedy Bang! Bang!’ (IFC) with Michael Cera. Then at 10:30pm watch ‘Bunk’ (IFC) with Kumail Nanjiani, Tom Lennon and Eugene Mirman playing absurd games such as “naming racehorses.”

Then on Saturday we have two furry premieres starting at 8pm with ‘My Cat From Hell’ (Animal Pl) starring two feuding felines threaten a couple’s impending honeymoon. Then at 9pm there’s ‘Bad Dog!’ (Animal Pl) when a dog clings onto his owner’s clothing to prevent her from leaving for work & three goats climb over their owner’s car. Then at 10pm watch a new episode of ‘Standup in Stilettos’ (TVG) with the very funny Carol Leifer, Christina Pazsitzky & VH1’s comedy duo Frangela.
