It’s safe to say it’s been a good year for UK boy band One Direction. As if the mega-sales of their debut album, Up All Night, wasn’t enough, now they’ve added another incredible feat to their growing list of accomplishments: the group’s new DVD, “Up All Night: The Live Tour,” is Number One in 25 countries across the globe and has outsold this week’s Number One album, John Mayer’s Born and Raised.
.
This marks the first time that a Number One DVD has outsold a Number One album in the US; One Direction’s DVD sold an incredible 76,000 copies this week, compared to 65,000 units sold of Mayer’s album.
.
“We’re blown away by the success of the DVD all around the world and want to thank everyone who has gone out and bought it, the support means so much to us,” group member Niall Horan said in a statement. “It was lots of fun filming the concert for the DVD, so we’re chuffed [pleased] all the fans love it so much.”

Breaking records is nothing new for the insanely-popular boy band: when Up All Night topped the charts in March, it marked the first time a British group had their debut album come in at Number One in the US.
