Joe Jonas was the latest victim of the MTV series “Punk’d,” the celebrity prank show that ran on MTV from 2003-2007 with Ashton Kutcher as the host. After a five-year break, the show returned to TV this March with a new format, using different celebrity guests each week in order to avoid suspicion.
.
Last night, “Glee” star Heather Morris – who plays the idiotic but loveable Britney S. Pierce on the show – attempted to punk Joe Jonas by framing him for a fake robbery, but the musician caught on early when he noticed one of the hidden cameras in the back of the car where he helped the “robbers” load their merchandise.

This isn’t the first time a celebrity has “called” the fact that they were on “Punk’d.” On the new revival series premeire hosted by Justin Bieber, skateboarder Rob Dyrdek was set up to hear an argument between a couple at a nearby table at a restaurant. Dyrdek knew about the show’s return beforehand, and immediately picked up on the gag, saying the “lighting’s too good” and saying that the whole thing felt fake. Later, he and Bieber ended up punking Sean Kingston with the same set-up. Back in 2003, Kutcher tried punking WWE star Bill Goldberg by having a truck run over Goldberg’s prized motorcycle. The production set up a replica, and Goldberg realized what was happening when the truck missed the bike and it exploded anyway.
.
Kutcher himself was even punked once, despite claiming he was “unpunkable.” The crew got him at the metal detector at MTV Studios, forcing him to go through again and again until he was forced to strip down to his underwear. But Ashton was too smart for a second time. When they tried again with Britney Spears, he convinced the singer to switch the prank around and succceeded in punking his crew for revenge.
