MTV Announces New Unplugged Performances, Including Florence And The Machine

MTV has announced a new series of eight episodes of Unplugged. The episodes, which will air this year on the network’s various channels, will include a performance by Florence and the Machine.

Florence and the Machine’s episode will air on April 8 on MTV. The Civil Wars and Dierks Bentley also on tap to perform later this spring on VH1 and CMT respectively. Three additional episodes will air on MTV and VH1 and two on CMT. Artists for those have not yet been announced. State Farm will sponsor the season and will send one fan and a friend to a performance through its Unplugged Sweepstakes. Unplugged, which has been on the air since 1989, featured in its 2011 season featured Adele, Mumford and Sons, the Avett Brothers and Kelly Clarkson.
