Having already conquered the worlds of rap, production and headphones, now Dr. Dre is setting out to change the world of television and he’s closed a development deal with FX for a one-hour drama pilot that will explore the city of Los Angeles through “the music business and crime business,” according to a press release from the network.
.
Dre will serve as executive producer of the still-untitled show while Sidney Quashie serve as creator and executive producer of the project, which will be represented through Dre’s own production company Crucial Films.
.
Wait, you didn’t know Dre had a production company? Us neither, but apparently he started the company in 2007 via a deal with New Line Cinema. In case you were wondering most recently Quashie wrote the screenplay for The Boston College Fix, which comes out in 2014 and sees a bunch of people we’ve never heard of playing themselves.
