The 2012 MTV Movie Awards have arrived with their crazy red purple black carpet stunts, big surprises and awkward fake kisses, and we’ve got a rundown on everything you need to know about the big, raunchy show! From the presenters and performers to big movie clip premieres and the full list of nominees, it’s all right here. Find out what’s on tap for Sunday night and check out our picks for the winners (and vote for your own).
We reported earlier that Russell Brand would be hosting the show with his unique (i.e. intellectual-yet-inappropriate and completely slutty) style of improvised humor. But the show can’t be run by one man alone, and that’s where the presenters come into play. Okay, really it probably could given Russell’s massive amount of energy and ability to speak very, very quickly … those presenters are there to hawk their wares and delight the crowd. This year’s presenting group just might surprise you.

Your presenters are …
This year’s presenters include Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield, Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Mila Kunis, Andy Samberg, Adam Sandler, Leighton Meester, Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey and Mark Wahlberg.
.
As if that wasn’t enough, a last-minute addition to the list was announced yesterday … Charlie Sheen will be on hand to bring the crazy introduce a tribute montage to the greatest party movies of all time. He’ll also be introducing one of the performers of the night, Wiz Khalifa, for his first-ever live performance of new single “Work Hard, Play Hard.”

Special performances by …
In addition to Wiz Khalifa, we’ll see performances from The Black Keys of their hit single “Gold On the Ceiling,” as well as the Indie-pop group fun. MTV Push artist and deejay Martin Solveig will be the in-house DJ for the awards show. Solveig will be creating movie music mash-ups, remixing some of Hollywood’s most iconic scores, including “Star Wars,” “Jaws,” and “Pulp Fiction.” Stay tuned, however, as other performers may be announced as showtime draws closer!

Premiering at the show …
One of the most exciting things about the “MTV Movie Awards” is the exclusive preview we get of a lot of movie clips that take place before, during, and after the show. This year’s lineup is particularly epic. Emma Watson, Logan Lerman and Ezra Miller will be presenting a sneak-peek and the first trailer of their movie, “The Perks of Being a Wallflower,” during the pre-show – I’m sure we’re all interested in seeing Emma as someone besides Hermoine Granger. In addition the pre-show will also feature an exclusive clip from “Katy Perry: Part of Me in 3D,” as well as a special bit of “After Hours” with a “Hunger Games” segment starring Elizabeth Banks.

On hand for the awards show will be Christian Bale, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gary Oldman and director Christopher Nolan, who will share an exclusive clip from their upcoming Batman finale, “The Dark Knight Rises.” Following the show will be the season premiere of MTV’s hit supernatural teen-drama, “Teen Wolf.”
.
All-in-all it looks like MTV will be the place to be on Sunday night, with a special “Punk’d” pre-show featuring Kim Kardashian and Drake getting played by Ashton Kutcher kicking off the action at 8/7 Central. Then, the 2012 MTV Movie Awards show will air live from the Gibson Amphitheatre on Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. “Teen Wolf” season two will premiere at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT (before moving to its regular time slot on Mondays at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.)
