While ‘America’s Got Talent’’s audition rounds are over, they’re not technically over. Vegas week, as we’ve all come to know, is somewhat of an audition continuation, but they’re still more fun because we get to see some of the old friends we’ve met along the way. Of course, we’ll have to say goodbye to a good majority of them. This can be sad, but what can you do? As Howard said, some dreams will be broken, while others will be shot into the stratosphere… kind of. I mean, it’s ‘America’s Go Talent’ … no one is really shot to the stratosphere.
This season, those in Vegas will be split into two groups. The first are the judge’s favorite and the second are the stand-bys. The judge’s favorites perform first while the stand-bys perform after for any remaining spots. Others are just immediately sent home. They also put three acts through automatically, including those dogs Sharon loved so much.
.
Now it’s time for the acts to start performing, and the first category is the “Danger” category, which is really a hilarious name for a category. Everything happens really fast in these Vegas rounds, and it’s hard to keep track of the action. A guy crashed his bike, The crossbow guy missed a shot in rehearsal, but then did a blindfold behind the back shot that Howard loved, A kid balanced on something and did a complete 360.

Female singers sang. Mary Joyner, my prospective favorite to win the whole thing, had a big misstep. As Howard said, “she blew it.” There were a few other dead eyed performances and then there was Luna, who was so bad the judges sent her home immediately. Finally, Nikki Jensen righted things for the ladies with her unique take on “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.”

Next up are the dance groups. Like Howard, these are the least interesting to me. There were a lot of steps and a slew of moves. One guy fell on another guy and then cried in the bathroom.

Then there’s novelty. The group consisted of Aurora Light Painters, the guy who gets kicked in the junk, the dog ventriloquist, that guy who does sand paintings – an act I scoffed at initially – but that I now think is kind of incredible, and All Beef Patty.
.
The male opera singers all bombed. Yes, even early favorite Andrew De Leon (especially Andrew De Leon) who came on strong to start, but then completely lost the words and he stopped performing. It was uncomfortable, but I suspect they’ll keep him in the competition.

No big decisions were made tonight as suspense needs to build for the remainder of the Three. Night. (Ugh) Event!
