Ok. So, I was wrong about Andrew De Leon. He’s still not on this show, which is easily the most egregious error in its history. Have no fear though, because Big Barry’s going to New York. Seriously. Big. Barry.

For last night’s TWO HOUR edition of ‘America’s Got Talent’s’ THREE NIGHT EXTRAVAGANZA, we were treated to “the stand bys” or the acts that, on second thought, weren’t really that great. I’ll say this, there was a lot of dancing, and I can never tell who is better than who. Lots of people. Lots of steps. Some made it Some didn’t. There were, figuratively, one thousand dance acts. Literally it was more like twenty, but twenty is still too many dancers. If you eliminated the dance acts from the two hours, you’d have been left with maybe one hour and one hour is better.

One of my favorite stories, however did come from the solo dance acts and it was Stepz and Turf – rivals in their trade, Stepz from the East Coast and Turf from the West. They know each other and they respect each other and, the nicest thing of all, they root for each other. At one point Stepz says “there’s nothing but respect here.” I really like both of these guys. In the end Stepz was sent home and Turf made it. It was the right decision and in Stepz’s (is that how that contraction works) all he could talk about was how excited and proud he was for his friend. It’s moments like these that make shows like this worth watching.

Like Tuesday night’s edition, night three was filled to the brim with yes and nos. Too many to keep track of, really, but let’s hit on some notables.

-Both of the old people rappers were sent packing and thank goodness because if I had to listen to Rapping Granny for another week, I don’t know how I’d have handled it.

-Those guys who dance around while the one guy paints portraits are my new favorite act. Of all those “painting” things bits, it’s the best one. It’s got tons of energy and the guy who paints is excellent.

-There was a lot of what I am now coining “The Howie Mandel Dump Face,” because it looks a lot like Howie’s pooping. Sorry, it’s crass I know, but I could not find a better way to describe it.

-Speaking of Howie, he was in buzzkill mode last night, huh?

-No matter how much I may make fun of ‘America’s Got Talent,’ I need to say, as a show, it has improved so much since losing Piers Morgan who was such an unlikable presence on it. That is all.

-They cut a lot of bands, but the Distinguished Men of Brass were put through. I was all for that. The Distinguished Men of Brass are great.

Well, that’s it for auditions and taped shows as we are live next week in New York. Get excited. Maybe Andrew De Leon will protest outside. If he does, I’ll join him.
