A ton of great actresses went through a “scream queen” phase, and it looks like Jennifer Lawrence is jumping on that bandwagon for the upcoming House at the End of the Street. It’s a young woman’s game, that’s for sure; it’s almost a rite of passage for younger girls to do a movie like this, because it takes so much energy to act like you’re scared to death for hours and hours at a time while you’re filming long days on a Hollywood set. Lawrence has had an excellent career so far, and I expect her to continue to do great work as she bounces in and out of franchise films (The Hunger Games and X-Men, maybe you’ve heard of them?) and does smaller projects like this in between. Lionsgate sent us ten new photos from the movie, so check ‘em out below!

Synopsis: Seeking a fresh start, newly divorced Sarah (Oscar®-nominee Elisabeth Shue; Leaving Las Vegas, Piranha 3D) and her daughter Elissa (Oscar®-nominee Jennifer Lawrence; The Hunger Games, X-Men: First Class) find the house of their dreams in a small, upscale, rural town. But when startling and unexplainable events begin to happen, Sarah and Elissa learn the town is in the shadows of a chilling secret. Years earlier, in the house next door, a daughter killed her parents in their beds, and disappeared – leaving only a brother, Ryan (Max Thieriot, My Soul to Take), as the sole survivor. Against Sarah’s wishes, Elissa begins a relationship with the reclusive Ryan – and the closer they get, the deeper they’re all pulled into a mystery more dangerous than they ever imagined.
