Radiohead have released a statement regarding the stage collapse which occurred over the weekend at Toronto’s Donsview Park and took the life of the band’s friend and drum tech Scott Johnson.

Drummer Phillip Selway wrote, “We have all been shattered by the loss of Scott Johnson, our friend and colleague. He was a lovely man, always positive, supportive and funny; a highly skilled and valued member of our great road crew. We will miss him very much. Our thoughts and love are with Scott’s family and all those close to him.”

Inspectors are still investigating the accident site and are unsure exactly why the stage collapsed just hours prior to the show. Three other members of the band’s crew were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening inures following the accident.
