As you may know, American Idol has yet to finalize its judging panel for the upcoming season. One of the names that’s been thrown around the most recently is Nicki Minaj. But her joining the show may hinge entirely on soda. Yes, you read that correctly.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Idol wants Minaj. There’s just one problem: she’s the new spokesperson for Pepsi, and Idol has a longtime sponsorship with coke. The show had similar problems with Jennifer Lopez, however, so if they really want her it seems like it’ll all work out.

Other rumored names are Keith Urban and Enrique Iglesias, which would round out the panel to include a rap (Minaj), country (Urban), Latin (Iglesias) and pop (Mariah Carey, who’s been confirmed) artist.
