If you don’t yet know the name “Sam Claflin,” you should pay the utmost attention to the information I’m about to divulge. The English actor has gone from being a drama school graduate to locking lips with Kristen Stewart onscreen in a matter of just 3 short years. For this reason, I’ve got my eye on him, as I see big things in his future. Here’s a little more insight as to why…
.
Sam was born in Ipswich, Suffolk, in 1986. Growing up, he wanted to play football professionally, but after several broken ankles, he gave up the dream. He took an interest in the performing arts instead, and one of his high school teachers encouraged him to pursue drama professionally after seeing him perform in a school play.

Sam entered the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in 2006, and he graduated 3 years later with a degree in theatre.

In 2010, Sam landed his first professional acting gigs on the shows Pillars of the Earth and Any Human Heart. Later that year, he was cast as Phillip Swift in the fourth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, On Stranger Tides. This would be considered a giant leap in his career by any measure, and all within just one year’s time — pretty impressive!

In 2011, Sam took on the role of footballer Duncan Edwards in a BBC film that centered around the events of the Munich air disaster in 1958. The following year, Sam was cast as Jack in the BBC show White Heat, which follows a group of seven London-based students from 1965 to the present.

This year, Sam was cast to appear in the film Snow White and the Huntsman, which opens June 1st. As you probably already know, it also stars Charlize Theron, Kristen Stewart, and Chris Hemsworth. In the film, Sam plays one of Kristen’s love interests, effectively putting him in the same category as big-time A-listers like Robert Pattinson.

Given the fact that Sam’s career has grown so extensively in such a short time, I have no doubt that he’ll be covering magazines and carrying movies in no time. Are you a fan? Leave your thoughts on Sam Claflin in the comments below!
