Blake Lively is playing yet another cocaine addict in Derek Martini’s upcoming film, Hick, leading many around here to wonder if the actress is ever going to show us any new colors. Her one major film deviation from the world of sex, drugs, and rock and roll was the Ryan Reynolds superhero flick Green Lantern. That movie didn’t perform so heroically at the box office, so it looks like Blake may be going back to what she thinks works. Moretz is locking down projects left and right these days, and studios are starting to see her full potential. She was just cast in the lead role for a remake of Carrie for MGM, but it looks like she’ll be joining Lively in returning to familiar material here as well, since she’s taking on another “girl with a gun” role after her famous part in Kick-Ass…not to mention “angry girl” from numerous parts like “30 Rock” and “Let Me In.” Redmayne was last seen in My Week with Marilyn and will star in the upcoming adaptation of Les Meserables opposite Hugh Jackman out later this year.
