Watch: Florence + The Machine’s ‘Breath of Life’ Music Video From ‘Snow White and The Huntsman’ Soundtrack

We’ve known for a while that Florence + The Machine were going to be featured on the soundtrack to “Snow White and The Huntsman.” We’ve even known that the song is titled “Breath of Life.” But today we get to look at the official music video for this song.

It’s pretty neat to see Florence Welch do her thing in the studio. She’s got a lot of passion for her work, and it shows, not only in the song itself but also in the behind-the-scenes glimpses that we get in this music video. Of course, we also get quite a bit of footage from the film itself, which is nice.
.
The tone of the video and the song definitely play up the character of Queen Raveena. In an interview with MTV, Welch mentioned that the queen was the inspiration for the song:
.
“The Queen is just this incredible character; so hungry for life but so dead inside. She’s sort of eternal, but inside there’s nothing…[She has] this thirst for youth and for life, but for what kind of life? This darkness, but she’s so beautiful, so it’s this kind of juxtaposition between beauty and, ultimately, death.”
.
Check out the music video below and see what you think. Does it reflect the dark side of the Queen? You can download the single today on iTunes. The complete soundtrack will be available on May 29th, 2012.
.
“Snow White and The Huntsman” opens on June 1st in theaters nationwide.
