While we only vaguely remember Phil Collins from our parents’ record collection (yes, we said record), we have far less trouble placing his daughter Lily. This weekend, she can be seen starring in the Snow White reimagining Mirror Mirror as none other than “the fairest of them all.” It’s not just this casting coup, however, that has us watching Lily. Want to know why we think the best is yet to come for the 23-year-old starlet?

Believe it or not, Lily’s onscreen career began at the age of 2, when she was cast on the popular show Growing Pains. When she was just 5-years-old her parents divorced, and she took up permanent residence in Los Angeles. Rather than pursue acting, however, Lily pursued journalism. In her teens, she wrote for magazines such as Elle Girl and Seventeen, thus proving that she was more than just another socialite.

After graduating from high school, Lily enrolled at the University of Southern California to continue her studies in journalism.  She also spent some time modeling.

In 2008, Spain’s Glamour Magazine named Lily as their top international model of the year. That same year, Lily hosted the Nickelodeon show Kids Pick The President and received a Young Hollywood award for “Newest Red Carpet Correspondent.” She then took on a recurring role on the hit TV show 90210. Major magazine cover? Check.

That same year, 2009, Lily appeared in the breakout hit The Blind Side as Sandra Bullock’s character’s daughter — not too shabby for her first role on the big screen! Academy Award-winning film? Check.

Two years later, Lily appeared opposite Paul Bettany in the film Priest. That same year, 2011, she won the highly-coveted lead role opposite Taylor Lautner in the film Abduction. The two began dating during the filming of the movie, but split soon after its release. A-list romance? Check.

It wasn’t long after Abduction released in theaters that Mirror Mirror began to get some buzz. Somehow, chatter about Lily’s involvement in the project even seemed to eclipse that of her uber-famous co-star, Julia Roberts. Pretty impressive given this is only Lily’s fourth film, no?

Post-Mirror Mirror, Lily can next be seen in the film The English Teacher, in which she’ll have to hold her own against heavyweights  like Julianne Moore and Greg Kinnear. By then, we’ll know if she can float a big budget gamble like Mirror Mirror as well as turn audiences out for smaller indie fare.

Given her impressive resume and all that she’s accomplished in just a few short years, we have a feeling she’ll have no problems opening films of any genre. What do you think of Lily? Will you go and see her this weekend in Mirror Mirror? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
