Though it’s been dominated by The Avengers at the box office, The Hunger Games became a worldwide phenomenon as soon as it was released and is still one of the biggest success stories of the year. Everyone’s been talking about The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the sequel that sees the continuing adventures of Katniss and Peeta thrown into the worst possible situation, but one that introduces a whole host of new characters. We’ve got the most recent casting rumors for you below, but first, a quick story from Daily Mail tells us that Katniss herself, Jennifer Lawrence, was standing outside her Santa Monica apartment today when a passing woman fainted on the grass nearby. In last Friday’s casting roundup, we heard that actress Mia Wasikowska and model Zoe Aggeliki were up for the role of the ax-wielding badass, Johanna Mason. But oh, how things can change in Hollywood. Wasikowska’s reps say she was never in consideration for the part, but rumor had it that Aggeliki was closer to locking it down anyway. Now, though, a new name is in the mix. EW says that Sucker Punch and Saved star Jena Malone has been moved to the top of the list, making a good match for the strong-willed former winner of the Hunger Games. We’ll have to wait and see if a seasoned actress like Malone ends up with the role, or if it goes to the fresh-faced Aggeliki instead.

MTV spoke with Romeo Miller (aka Lil’ Romeo), who revealed that he actually just met with the studio for a part in the sequel. “I actually just met with Lionsgate about that, so you may be seeing me in one of the ‘Hunger Games.’ That’s all I’m saying,” Miller said. “Not a particular role, we just had a meeting, seeing if it was something I was interested in. I can’t really talk too much, or they’ll kill me. You know how ‘The Hunger Games’ is.” Who could he be playing?

And finally, WWE star Kevin Nash is also in the running for a part in Catching Fire. A quick blurb in USA Today says he’s in talks for a part, and though they don’t mention what that part is, it’s pretty obvious that it should be Brutus, another former winner of the Games who is a middle-aged dude. It’s not like Nash would play Finnick or anything; the latest person rumored for that role is “Weeds” star Hunter Parrish.
