Diddy is continuing his acting career with an upcoming TV appearance. The rapper will play a detective on an upcoming episode of the CBS drama Hawaii Five-0.
.
According to the Associated Press, Diddy “will play NYPD Detective Reggie Williams, who arrives in Honolulu on the hunt for the men who committed a crime against his family.” Several tracks from Diddy’s recent album with Dirty Money, Last Train To Paris, will also be featured in the episode.
.
Diddy recently starred in Get Him To the Greek and has appeared in several films and TV shows in the past, including Monster’s Ball. At the Golden Globes he told MTV News he hopes to cultivate more comedic roles in the future. “I’ve done a lot of drama mostly my whole career, with Broadway and ‘Monster’s Ball’ and stuff like that— my short little career,” he said. “But when I did ‘Get Him to the Greek,’ I really fell in love with making people laugh. I have a knack for improvisation, and hopefully I’ll be able to make people laugh more.”
.
Judd Appatow, who produced Get Him To the Greek, said of Diddy, “He was riotously funny. As a man with one skill, I was annoyed that he was also funny. You shouldn’t be allowed to be good at so many things.”
.
Hawaii Five-0 airs Mondays on CBS at 10 p.m. EST. The network has yet to announce the air date for Diddy’s episode.
