Who would you put on a list of the most powerful people in the music industry? Well, it’s probably a much different list than Billboard put together. Their list includes six artists, 21 record label execs, 23 managers, and 10 television and movie execs. The remainder of the list comes from radio, music publishing, digital service providers, branding companies, trade groups, lawyers and even 2 venture capitalists. Find out how the list was made and see the complete list below.
The Billboard Power 100 rankings were determined by a combination of key factors. According to Billboard, these factors included market share, exclusive Billboard chart data/boxscore information, and revenue. After this data was gathered, a team of 15 Billboard editors analyzed the metrics to produce the final list. It should also be noted that the list is U.S. based.
