We’ve got a new trailer via Yahoo! for Looper, the time travel thriller from director Rian Johnson. It’s the first U.S. trailer and it’s a lot different than the first international trailer that we saw back in April. It has quite a bit of new footage and really makes the movie more gripping.

Imagine a world where time travel not only exists but is used by the mob to go back and make hits on people 30 years in the past. Now imagine you’re one of the mob’s hit men and you’re sent back to eliminate yourself. Freaky, right? That’s the basic premise behind Looper, starring Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the same character, only 30 years apart in age. There’s an extra 40 seconds in this trailer, we get a better idea of the plot, and see more interaction between the old and new version of Joe, the Looper. Official Synopsis: In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination. The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.
