Rumors emerged last month after the Osbourne family matriarch tweeted a mysterious message to Howard Stern about not returning to the hit NBC show, America’s Got Talent. Now she’s speaking out why she’s leaving the show and what it means for her future in television.

The New York Post is reporting that Osbourne is leaving the show because of the way the network handled the firing of her son Jack Osbourne after he revealed he has a form of multiple sclerosis. According to Sharon Osbourne, the network turned their back on what was a good faith contract (not actually signed) for Jack to work on the Stars Earn Stripes show. The military-style reality show will pit stars against each other in real military exercises to see who can earn their “stripes.”

Jack’s dismissal from the show came within days of him revealing his medical condition, according to Sharon Osbourne. While the network execs say he was never officially hired, Sharon points out that he was congratulated on joining the network via email from Chuck LaBella, the network’s vice president of Talent Relations, back in May. She also pointed out that work in Hollywood often proceeds before the last-minute details of an official contract are worked out. She even started work on America’s Got Talent before her contract was signed.

But now, she says she’s through. She says she won’t return to the show for the next season, and despite her long-time friend Simon Cowell trying to smooth things over, it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. As far as her future in television, Osbourne says her contract with NBC won’t allow her to be a judge for another network for five years, but that they can’t force her to do something she doesn’t want to do.

As the saying goes, “If momma ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy!” And Sharon Osbourne isn’t happy. Will the network execs make things right and re-instate Jack Osbourne as a contestant on the Stars Earn Stripes show? Only time will tell, but we’re not holding our breath.
