R. Kelly Says That Musicians Should Stop Fighting And Focus On Music
Posted 8/1/2012

.
R. Kelly isn’t generally thought of as a voice of reason, but in a recent interview he expressed the fact that today’s generation of R&B singers should focus on music instead of beefing with their peers. We couldn’t agree more.

.
“I feel there’s a lot of talented guys out there when it comes to R&B, and what I urge guys out there to do, that’s coming up under me, [aiming for] longevity, is to stay away from beef,” the icon told MTV News. “Stay away from beef, stay true and respectful to music and to the ones that inspired you to do what you do.”
.
R. Kelly also dismissed his own feud with Trey Songz, claiming that he’s more interested in leaving that type of drama for the hip-hop community. “You don’t want R&B singers to get into beef. Leave that to the rappers, let them do that — R&B, be classy,” he explained. “That’s for the ladies and having babies and having fun.”
.
We can only hope that Chris Brown, Brian McKnight, Drake, The-Dream and The Weeknd can heed this advice. Seriously, think about how much amazing music could be created if these rappers weren’t so busy putting their energy into diss tracks?
.
While you’re pondering, that why not listen to some R. Kelly Radio?
