July 21, 1947 – Singer/songwriter Cat Stevens is born.
July 22, 1947 - The Eagles singer Don Henley is born.
July 17, 1959Billie Holiday dies in a New York City hospital from cirrhosis of the liver after years of alcohol abuse at age 43.
July 20, 1964Soundgarden Chris Cornell is born.
July 23, 1965Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash, born Saul Hudson, is born.
July 17, 1967 – Jazz saxophonist and composer John Coltrane dies from liver cancer in Long Island, New York at age 40.
July 22, 1973Rufus Wainwright is born.
July 21, 1987 –  Guns N’ Roses release their debut album, Appetite For Destruction.
