BIG NAMES

The movie: The family drama stars Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep with George Clooney producing (Oscar, anyone?), and follows a few summer weeks in the life of a turbulent dysfunctional family. Breslin will play Roberts’ daughter.
Other projects: She’s the got a thriller called The Hive coming out next year with Halle Berry, and she’ll also appear in the highly anticipated movie adaptation of Ender’s Game.
.
Johnny Depp officially cast in Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel

The movie: Details are scant on the director’s follow-up to Moonrise Kingdom, but the success of that indie film coupled with Depp’s involvement basically means he has total creative freedom to do whatever he wants. Let’s see just how whimsical things get with Captain Jack Sparrow on board.
Other projects: Depp has The Lone Ranger coming out in 2013, but it’s likely that The Grand Budapest Hotel will be his next project following the western actioner.
.
Kristen Bell starring in The Lifeguard

The movie: A reporter about to turn 30 picks up her life in New York City and moves back to her hometown to get a job as a lifeguard, starting a dangerous relationship with a 16-year-old boy when she gets there. Sounds scandalous.
Other projects: Bell stars in her husband Dax Shepherd’s Hit and Run, which is out in theaters later this summer.
.

The movie: A young girl played by Lily Collins suddenly discovers that she’s a descendant of a race of Shadowhunters in New York City, a secret unit of half-angel warriors who have to protect our world from demonic bad guys. When her mom goes missing, she’s brought into a secret region called Downworld, filled with werewolves, vampires, and all sorts of nasty creatures. Headey (who you probably know from “Game of Thrones” or 300 stars as the missing mom, while “Mad Men” star Jared Harris will play a professor with a curse. Gao will be a hard-partying leader of the Shadowhunters.
Other projects: Headey stars in the upcoming Judge Dredd reboot, while Harris will star in Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln as Ulysses S. Grant. Gao, who has only appeared in one movie so far, has no projects listed in development.
.
Kenneth Branagh starring in Moscow

The movie: In this reboot of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan series, Chris Pine will play the CIA analyst famously played by Harrison Ford while Branagh will play the villain. The cool part is that Branagh, who directed Marvel’s Thor among many other projects, is also directing this movie. Looks like he’s giving himself a juicy part as a Russian terrorist who tries to cripple the U.S. economy.
Other projects: He’s producing Thor: The Dark World which will bring Chris Hemsworth back to Asgard after the events of The Avengers.
.
Kevin Kline will star in Last Vegas

The movie: Basically it’s The Hangover starring a bunch of old dudes. Michael Douglas, Morgan Freeman, Robert De Niro, and now Kevin Kline play four aging best friends who go to Vegas to have an insane bachelor party before one of the friends marries a woman half his age.
Other projects: Kline does the voice of Mr. Fischoeder on the FOX series “Bob’s Burgers” and appeared in last year’s No Strings Attached as Ashton Kutcher’s father.

RISING STARS

The show: Heading into its 9th season, “Grey’s Anatomy” follows a series of doctors and nurses during their love lives intertwine with their working lives. Luddington will play a young doctor and has the possibility to become a regular on the show next season.
Where you might have seen her: She recently played Kate Middleton in Lifetime’s William & Kate movie, and she just did six episodes of “True Blood” on HBO.
.
Emilia Clarke and Sam Klafin set to star in Overdrive

The movie: This car heist action film stars Karl Urban as one of two American brothers who decide to take their thieving to the shores of France, but they get involved with a black market buyer who doesn’t take kindly to their games. No word on Clarke and Clafin’s roles just yet.
Where you might have seen them: You’d probably recognize Clafin from his role in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, but he’s about to become a household name because he just locked down the role of Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Clarke stars on the popular fantasy HBO series “Game of Thrones.”
.
Jessica Szhor to join Interns

The movie: Finally reuniting the comedic talents of Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson after 2005’s Wedding Crashers, Interns sees the two men out of a job and having to fight their way up the corporate ladder against much younger competition. Szhor plays a dance instructor with a sexy alternate dance job on the side.
Where you might have seen her: She played Vanessa Abrams in “Gossip Girl” from ‘07-’11, and also starred alongside Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, and Matthew Broderick in last year’s Tower Heist.
