On July 17th, Nas will release his tenth LP, Life Is Good. And the latest song to surface from the LP is undeniably one of its biggest surprises. “Cherry Wine,” a cut featuring the late Amy Winehouse, will appear on the album. This isn’t the first track to feature the rapper with the late singer: the two linked up on “Like Smoke,” which appears on Winehouse’s posthumous album, Lioness: Hidden Treasures. The six-minute-plus track, which premiered on BBC’s Radio 1 on Tuesday night, was produced by Salaam Remi, a frequent collaborator of both Winehouse and Nas. It finds both artists demonstrating why each are widely considered among the best at their respective talent: Nas flows exquisitely while Winehouse, anchoring the hook, sounds as soulful and melodic as ever.
