Common and Q-Tip’s supergroup The Standard may have a new member. According to XXL, Nas may be the newest member of the all-star rap group.

The duo is apparently interested in adding another MC to the crew. It has to be confirmed, but Nas, who has previously collaborated with both artists, is reportedly interested. The Standard formed back in 2007, but have not actually released any music. Both artists have been working on solo material– Common recently released a new disc and Q-Tip is working on his next effort.

None of the three rappers have commented on The Standard since the story broke earlier today, but the New York Daily claims that when asked if he’d be joining the supergroup Nas replied “Definitely.” We hope that’s true because we’d “definitely” like to hear that collaboration.

Meanwhile, Nas has been working on his next solo disc. The rapper spoke with Myspace at Austin City Limits last fall and offered some insight into the album. Watch below:
