First off, I wanna give quick props to Collider for all of the images that you’ll see in this post. The Toronto International Film Festival is coming up, and the fest has released a bunch of new photos to accompany the list of movies playing there this year. Collider has three different posts bringing all of these together, and you can head over there for more that you’ve already seen.

Jake Gyllenhaal’s newest drama follows him and Michael Pena as cops in South Central Los Angeles and comes from the writer of Training Day. There are a ton of POV shots and camera rigs had to be created just to get some of the angles that these guys get, and the director touted the actors’ skills at Comic-Con by saying that they’re actually better trained than some of the LAPD officers on the street.

After taking on noir movies with Brick and con man films with The Brothers Bloom writer/director Rian Johnson is putting his unique spin on the sci-fi genre with Looper, starring frequent collaborator Joseph Gordon-Levitt. JGL plays a young Bruce Willis in a time travel movie in which he’s an assassin tasked with killing a future version of himself. Paradox! Seriously, this looks totally kick-ass.

The Perks of Being A Wallflower stars Emma Watson and Logan Lerman as students who face the “dizzying highs and crushing lows of growing up.” It looks like one of the best coming-of-age movies to hit theaters in a long time, so we’ve got our fingers crossed that it turns out great.
