‘Looper’ Trailer Gets Decoded With Director’s Commentary

We got our first look at “Looper” recently with an awesome trailer showing the some of the time travel goodness from the movie’s plot. However, there were a few things in the trailer that we may not have fully understood, leaving us with an incomplete picture. This time around, we’ve got the trailer with commentary from director Rian Johnson.

Johnson sat down recently with MTV News to give the commentary for this video. It’s nice to see a sci-fi movie that doesn’t rely heavily on CGI, and he hits upon that point. He also shares with us how the action scenes came together and Bruce Willis’ extra role in these scenes. Also good to know is that Emily Blunt plays a major part in the film, despite a limited appearance in the trailer.
.
It’s still a long way out, but you’ll want to mark your calendars for September 28th, 2012. This will be one fall movie that you won’t want to miss, especially if you’re a fan of science fiction, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, or Bruce Willis. It’s definitely going on my must see list!
.
Check out the commentary below and let us know what you think.

Official Synopsis: Time travel will be invented, but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper”—a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt)—is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good. . . until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination. The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.
