There’s nothing kicking off your week with a new track from 50 Cent that heralds the dawning of another day. And, what’s more, the single, “New Day” was produced by Dr. Dre and features guest spots from Dre and Alicia Keys.
.
The track is the lead single from 50 Cent’s fifth studio album, Street King Immortal, which will be released on Shady/Aftermath/Interscope on November 13. If the track sounds moderately familiar it’s because Keys has already offered a similar number by the same title. Here, though, Dre takes over the production, bolstering up the beats and adding verses from himself and 50 Cent. Dre raps, “I woke up this morning thinking ’bout the old me/When I was feeling like, Miller Light and Olde E. But now I ride on some conscious shit/I’m getting bread while I toast to my accomplishments.” Listen below:

This is the first fans have heard from 50’s upcoming album, which label head Jimmy Iovine has said is the rapper’s best work since his debut. 50 tweeted, “Jimmy Iovine said STREET KING IMMORTAL is the best album I’ve made sense GET RICH OR DIE TRYING.” The rapper added, “STREET KING IMMORTAL is going to be a classic.” 50 has yet to release a tracklisting or album art for the disc, and it’s not known which artists besides Keys and Dre are set to appear. But this new single, even though it’s a redux of Keys’ track, feels like an apt way to kick of the new album. It’s catchy but still has that signature 50 Cent edge.
