The CMJ Music Marathon has revealed its initial lineup, and leading the charge this year are The Walkmen, Kimbra, Killer Mike and numerous others. The festival, which takes place October 16-20 in New York City, will showcase a broad variety of musicians ranging from up-and-coming bands to big-name acts.

This initial slew of artists is large and includes buzzed about groups like Electric Guest, DIIV, METZ, Icona Pop, Geographer, Gold Fields, Young Evils, No and Solid Gold. Big-name acts include GZA, Talib Kweli, Anberlin, The Mountain Goats, OFF! and JJAMZ. You can check out the full initial lineup here.

Doesn’t seem like enough bands to fill all of NYC’s music venues for a whole weekends? Don’t worry. The festival notes that there are “thousands more artists, panels and events to be announced in the lead-up to the festival.” That’s right, thousands.
