Kim Kardashian: Pop star. The reality-show diva has officially launched her music career, debuting a new single “Jam” on On Air With Ryan Seacrest this morning.

Kardashian told Seacrest that the track was produced by The-Dream. “My good friend Ciara was like ‘The-Dream wants your number’ and I was like ‘Please, I’m sure he does’ and she said ‘No, seriously. He really wants to do a song with you,’” Kardashian said. She added, “[The-Dream said] let’s just have fun. Let’s donate the proceeds, let’s just have fun with it don’t take yourself seriously, try something you’ve never done before.”

All proceeds from the song will benefit the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Kardashian said she was nervous when recording. “I walked out at one point…cause I was scared!” she said. Fans of the reality show star will be able to watch the recording process of her new single on a future episode of E!’s Kourtney & Kim Take New York.

The track itself is moderately catchy, although a little bit tentative. A sample lyric is as follows: “I’m goin out tonight, it’s goin down/Headed straight to the front of the line, on the fly/On the floor I can’t stand still/And I’m goin to work like I’m paying my bills.”
