Willow Smith is pretty lucky that she has cool parents who let her march to the beat of her own drum. But the outrageousness doesn’t stop with her shaved head or dyed hair. Now, the 11-year-old appears to have pierced her tongue!

The “Whip My Hair” singer posted a picture of herself and a friend on Instagram with what looks to be like a tongue piercing (which could be just a magnet, of course.) According to California law, she would have needed the permission of dad Will Smith and mom Jada Pinkett Smith to get pierced since she is under 18.

Two other pics were also posted — one with the same friend, and one with a cardboard cutout of The Biebs.

Fans have been quick to dismiss the “tongue ring” as fake, and some critics are outraged that her famous folks would allow her to get the tongue piercing.

But Willow’s dad Will seems pretty liberal when it comes to letting his daughter be who she is.

“When you have a little girl, it’s like how can you teach her that you’re in control of her body?” he told Parade in May. “If I teach her that I’m in charge of whether or not she can touch her hair, she’s going to replace me with some other man when she goes out in the world. She is used to making those decisions herself. We try to keep giving them those decisions until they can hold the full weight of their lives.”

The actor told the publication that if Willow has the freedom to choose how she looks, she will ultimately have command of her own body.

“She has got to have command of her body,” the father of three said. “So when she goes out into the world, she’s going out with a command that it is hers.”
