The Break Up - Live at El Corazon Seattle - Feb 9 2010

...The lights dim, the band walks onstage, the speakers hum.......and from the first beat I was HOOKED!!! The Break Up have a sound that covers a LOT of area.....Take some 80's electronic, a pinch of Pop and a pinch of experimental loops. Then put some female lead vocals and some male backing vocals (sometimes vocoded) and you have it! Imagine if Gary Numan and Lady Gaga had a child that wrote Dance music, you have to hear these guys! It's catchy AND quirky at the same time, and that is a hard thing to pull off.....but they do it, with style.

And even better than this: These guys brought a "live show"....and by that I mean and old-school-real-stage SHOW! It's not very often anymore that you see that. I mean, I've seen a thousand bands with a bunch of guys putting on silly outfits from the 70's, or a superman cape, or whatever, and doing the same old "guys bunmping into eachother on a stage" routine. We've all see it. But the Break Up did it up right.....full on millitary garb with lace, feathers, and army helmets! It was like watching a runway fashion show where all the clothes had to be altered from Army-Navy Surplus material......it was dirty, it was sexy, it was AWESOME!!

They have a full length album coming out soon, do yourself a favour and go grab a copy.......YOU WILL THANK ME!
